Mr. Eta also uses multiple software systems to create precise control systems tailored to each specific plant, among other responsibilities.

Affiliated with Marathon Petroleum Corporation since 2011, Mr. Eta joined the organization as a senior refinery engineer. In 2020, he became a senior production planning engineer before securing his current role. Before joining Marathon, Mr. Eta was a senior consultant at Dow from 2010 to 2011, an engineering consultant and information technology director at Uranium Disposition Services between 2009 and 2010, and the director of engineering at Sriya Innovations Inc. in 2009. His career history dates to 1993, when he joined Honeywell Process Solutions as a control engineer.

Throughout his remarkable career, Mr. Eta has identified many commonalities among his projects. He has also contributed by writing numerous programs in Virtual Basic and Python and developing graphical user interfaces to automate processes. His work has notably encompassed engineering and computer science, and he has become well-versed in streamlining his workflow through various strategic efforts.

Highly educated in preparation for his career in this sector, Mr. Eta completed coursework at Engineering Concepts Institute in 1989 before receiving an undergraduate degree in 1993 and a Master of Science in mechanical and chemical engineering from Prairie View A&M University in 1995. In addition to his education, he has been active as a member and past membership chair of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.

Active in his civic community, Mr. Eta has served as a financial sponsor for the Local African Community and as the organization’s local and national vice president. He has also volunteered by organizing a local soccer team and serving as its captain, soccer coach, and mathematics and physics tutor.

Recognized for his writing abilities, Mr. Eta has contributed several articles to scholarly journals. He has also been honored with several corporate awards for his leadership. Most notably, his work overseeing the assembling unit for a refinery at Marathon Petroleum Corporation was a huge success, as it possessed a one-of-a-kind feature uncommon in other refineries. Mr. Eta credits his achievements to the unwavering support of his family and the guidance of one of his former high school teachers for inspiring him to consider a career in chemical engineering.

Mr. Eta envisions remaining in the industry for another decade and aspires to be recognized as an individual who is passionate about engineering and its significance in society. Having witnessed numerous significant changes in the engineering profession, especially in automation and artificial intelligence (AI), during his time at Honeywell, where he was engaged in the early development of control systems, Mr. Eta has since also enrolled in a sophisticated AI and machine learning program to advance his career.
