Dr. Kore is a leading engineering professional who has been active in the industry for over 15 years. Since 2019, she has excelled as a senior electrical engineer at Swanson Rink Inc. With offices in Denver and Phoenix, her company has become recognized as a leading design engineering firm specializing in serving mission-critical, aviation and corporate facilities in meeting their advanced systems requirements. The mechanical and electrical consulting engineering firm has been serving customers, including leading data centers, airports and research and development facilities, for over 70 years.
Among her range of responsibilities, Dr. Kore oversees the training of staff members and engages in design work focused on highly skilled data centers. She is presently engaged in a project that includes power, lighting and fire alarm design, and interfacing with security and telecommunication systems.
Before being acquired by Swanson Rink Inc. in Denver, Dr. Kore was a senior electrical engineer and senior systems designer at AECOM from 2015 to 2019 in Denver. She oversaw security systems design at Denver International Airport and was an electrical engineer for multidiscipline engineering projects, primarily for airport projects. She also excelled as an electrical engineer at RS&H, a Jacksonville, Florida-based business, between 2007 and 2015, where she was involved in product research, engineering studies, conceptual design, final design, and construction documentation for airport facilities and commercial buildings. Dr. Kore also gained experience as an electrical designer at The Ohmega Group LLC from 2006 to 2007, designing lighting and power systems for non-residential buildings. Earlier in her career, she impacted students as an assistant professor at the University of North Florida, professor at Florida Technical College, and teacher for the Duval County Public Schools.
Highly educated, Dr. Kore received a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Heidelberg College. After graduating, she enlisted in the military, serving as a first-class airman in the U.S. Air Force and gaining experience in electronics. Unable to secure a job after her service ended, Dr. Kore returned to college, obtaining a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in electrical engineering from the University of Florida.
Throughout her engineering career, Dr. Kore has worked in various settings, including highly skilled data centers and commercial and government buildings. Her expertise in multidisciplinary projects, computer-aided design, construction specifications and administration has been critical to her success.
Besides her full-time work commitments, Dr. Kore is active as a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, where she has been able to remain abreast of industry trends and collaborate with like-minded individuals. In addition to her professional affiliations, she regularly donates to Colorado Public Radio, a nonprofit news and music organization that covers news, arts, sciences, politics and more.
Dr. Kore was fortunate to receive a grant from the National Science Foundation. She credits her achievements to staying true to herself and the unwavering support of those around her. Eager for future opportunities, Dr. Kore aspires to serve as an example for females pursuing careers in STEM. She also plans to retire in the next decade.
