His experience also includes software engineer at Netflix from 2020 to 2023, where he modernized the build system for Spinnaker UI, transitioning from custom webpack scripts to a multi-package setup using yarn workspaces, lerna, and rollup. He enhanced the Spinnaker property management system to support seamless bulk updates across various Netflix products and introduced a “PR/Branch deploy” feature, enabling developers to preview and share work effortlessly. He also developed a visualization tool that improved Kubernetes event observability across Netflix’s infrastructure products.

From 2014 to 2020, Mr. Murugesan worked as a software engineer at Facebook, where he built a logging framework for Ads Interfaces, ensuring data quality and facilitating feature analysis. He introduced an auto-save feature to the Ads Create Flow, resulting in a 1% increase in ad creation, and re-architected the Ads Manager creation flow to streamline UI state management. His leadership extended to unifying the UI architecture for Ads Manager’s editing and creation flows, simplifying feature integration for partner teams. Earlier in his career, he was a software development engineer at Microsoft from 2012 to 2014, where he developed ad experiences across platforms like Windows 8, Windows Phone, and Android, and reduced loading times for Outlook.com ad experiences by 40%.

Additionally, Mr. Murugesan holds a co-patent for a customizable vertical site search tool for publishers and merchants, awarded in 2013. His other roles include software engineer at Yahoo from 2010 to 2012, where he led front-end efforts for Yahoo Hosted Search, Yahoo Site Search, and BOSS, and web application developer at Bueda in 2010, where he created a social media marketing tool. Starting his career as a programmer analyst trainee at Cognizant Technology Solutions from 2007 to 2008, he developed an internal portal to manage performance testing projects. Laying a solid educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science from SSN College of Engineering in 2007, followed by a Master of Science in information technology in software engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2010.

Reflecting on his path, Mr. Murugesan studied computer science in India before moving to the United States to pursue a master’s degree in software engineering, motivated by a desire to deepen his expertise. He moved to the Bay Area in 2010, beginning his career with major tech companies such as Yahoo!, Microsoft, and Facebook, where he gained over a decade of experience in software development. He takes pride in his journey, from working with industry giants to eventually founding his own company. Recognizing the importance of continuous learning in a rapidly evolving field, he stays updated on emerging technologies to keep his skills sharp.
