With over a decade and a half of experience, Mr. Munim has established a successful career in information technology, specializing in software test automation and quality engineering. He currently serves as lead software engineer at Mastercard, a role he has held since 2024. His previous experience includes senior software development engineer in test at Mastercard from 2021 to 2024, test lead at Tech Mahindra from 2015 to 2021, and senior test analyst and test analyst at SQS-India from 2010 to 2014. Earlier in his career, he worked as a QA engineer at Tekmindz from 2008 to 2010, software engineer at Telesoft Neutek Pvt Ltd in 2008, and contributed to open-source projects like Serenity. He is also an active contributor to QA websites and blogs, and is involved in philanthropic efforts, including donating to Toys for Tots and participating in various fundraising initiatives with his family to support individuals in need. Laying a strong educational foundation, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering in computer engineering from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, India, in 2007. He also holds an ISTQB Foundation certification from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
Reflecting on his path, Mr. Munim began his career at a small company in India, quickly advancing to a mid-sized firm with around 500 employees. This transition provided him with exposure to larger-scale operations and higher standards of management. His career took a pivotal turn when he joined Software Quality Systems, a leader in the testing industry, where he spent nearly five years refining his skills and gaining invaluable experience. A significant milestone came with his move to Tech Mahindra, marking his first long-term assignment outside India. This role took him to Malaysia, where he worked with Mastercard as a client, offering him global exposure and further advancing his career. Upon returning to India, he brought with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise, which continues to shape his professional growth.
Mr. Munim takes great pride in his career, particularly in the successful execution of the Ecom 2.0 project, which involved re-architecting token creation for online merchants and integrating 25 to 30 components, making testing and implementation highly complex. Despite the challenges, the project enhanced system performance and provided valuable learning opportunities for the entire team. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has been honored with the Grow Together – Great Teamwork Award for the MDES Tap to Add Card feature in 2024, Move Fast – Unlocked Project at Cyber Security Services in 2023, and Create Value Awards for MDES 2.0 eCommerce and Token Supply Go Live in 2022. He was also recognized with the Own It Award as lead for Ecom 2.0 delivery in 2022, an ACE Award from Tech Mahindra in 2017, and a Pat on Back Award from Tech Mahindra in 2015.
Mr. Munim attributes his success to the foundational experience he gained at a small company in India. This early role paved the way for significant opportunities, including an assignment in Jakarta, and set the stage for his progression into larger organizations, allowing him to expand his professional expertise. Looking to the future, he aspires to focus on people management, empowering individuals to build their careers while leveraging his technical expertise to create a well-rounded leadership approach. In the long term, he aims to take on roles such as manager, director, or vice president, where he can make a meaningful impact on team development and organizational growth.
