Mr. Rizvi is distinguished for his career in engineering, which spans over a decade. Since 2020, he has excelled as a senior reliability assessment and performance analysis engineer for the Northeast Power Coordinating Council Inc. in New York City, focusing on power grid reliability through renewable energy resource integration. As such, Mr. Rizvi is responsible for maintaining electric power reliability for the Northeast portion of the U.S. and Canada. He is also tasked with developing models that accurately represent the power system, engaging with stakeholders, and enhancing the overall understanding and efficiency of power systems.
Leveraging his former experience, Mr. Rizvi began his career as an associate researcher at the University of Connecticut’s Institute of Materials Science from 2013 to 2014 while pursuing his undergraduate degree. He simultaneously worked as an electrical engineer at iDevices in Avon, Connecticut, before being acquired by Burns & McDonnell in New York City as a transmission planning engineer and project manager between 2014 and 2020. Additionally, Mr. Rizvi garnered success as a technical advisory consultant at 1898 & Company in New York City from 2019 to 2020.
Becoming highly educated, Mr. Rizvi received a Bachelor of Science in electrical and electronics engineering with a minor in mathematics from the University of Connecticut in 2014 and a Master of Science in power systems engineering and management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2019. Moreover, he completed an internship as a process engineer with TTM Technologies and received credentials in business metrics for data-driven companies from Duke University, a designation in problem-solving with Excel through Coursera, and certification in data science from Columbia Engineering. Mr. Rizvi is active in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and is an advisor for the Husky Mentor Network at the University of Connecticut’s Center for Career Development. In the coming years, he intends to deepen his expertise in energy infrastructure by focusing on power grid reliability.
