Charles “Chuck” M. Coleman Sr., special projects engineer at Wells Lamont, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Mr. Coleman is a special projects engineer at Wells Lamont, a position he has held since 2005. Based in Mississippi, he has been instrumental in supporting the textile plant, which specializes in producing cut-resistant products for hand and arm protection for every industrial application. His role involves custom-building and modifying textile machinery and modifying knitting equipment to make certain types of products. Leveraging his former success, Mr. Coleman spent 10 previous years as a yarn manager for his company after initially working as a knit technician from 1987 to 1995.
Leveraging over 35 years of hands-on experience, most of the equipment Mr. Coleman built at Wells Lamont was made from scratch, including a machine that cuts Kevlar tubes. He also built the sleeve unit for Wells Lamont. Today, they have several knitting machines that produce sleeves and hand and arm protection daily. His expertise and dedication to constant improvement have become widely recognized throughout the organization.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Coleman worked at a waste car garage building frames for race cars and specialized in bodywork. This experience set the tone for his future. Mr. Coleman completed management training at East Central Community College. He also completed programmable logic controller training and coursework at the University of Knoxville. Attributing much of his success to having several great mentors who passed along their knowledge to him, he has learned many lessons that have propelled his career forward.
