Justin Reinert, chief engineer at Fairwater, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in engineering.
Mr. Reinert, first engineer and chief engineer at Fairwater, a foremost Jones Act and United States flag maritime solutions provider, has been instrumental in his position since 2024. Responsible for caring for one of the company’s vessels, a 768-foot tanker ship, including its maintenance and reliability, he also manages all daily operations. Leveraging his extensive marine engineering, machinery and heavy equipment background to his success, Mr. Reinert formerly worked for Seabulk and U.S. Shipping Corporation as a first engineer after serving as a second engineer at U.S. Shipping Corporation. His earlier years included third engineer positions at Maersk and TE SubCom, dating back to 2013.
A graduate of Ferris State University, Mr. Reinert received a Bachelor of Business Administration in management. He also garnered a Bachelor of Business Administration in naval architecture and marine engineering from Great Lakes Maritime Academy. Besides his formal degrees, he holds certification to endorse the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping and to validate personnel seeking to enhance their licenses through the U.S. Coast Guard. Mr. Reinert is presently working toward attaining the status of designated observer with the U.S. Coast Guard to advance his career.
Crediting much of his ongoing success to the collaborative efforts of his team, Mr. Reinert emphasizes surrounding himself with individuals who share his core values. Proud of his accomplishments, he has cultivated a strong safety culture within his crew and across day-to-day vessel operations, which remains a high priority given the inherent dangers of the field. Determined to continue challenging his abilities, Mr. Reinert intends to become proficient with the latest technologies aligned with Environmental Protection Agency regulations and the latest in vessel operations. Additionally, he remains steadfast about reducing the carbon footprint, aiming to ensure safe cargo movement while actively contributing to environmental sustainability.
