He also garnered success as a project engineer and project manager at Frontier-Kemper Constructors Inc. between 1995 and 2020 and in various roles at Perini Corporation and MGK Constructors, dating back to 1983.
Highly educated in his field, Mr. Jacobs holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, cum laude, from Northeastern University since 1985 and a Master of Science in construction management from The Polytechnic Institute of New York University since 1988. He also holds several professional credentials, including as a licensed professional engineer in New York, New Jersey, Virginia and Maryland, a certified safety professional and a site safety training supervisor. Adding to his credentials, Mr. Jacobs is affiliated with several industry-related organizations as a fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, first vice president of the General Contractors Association of New York Inc., and member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the American Society of Safety Professionals, the Underground Construction Association, and the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration Inc.
Beyond his primary career initiatives, Mr. Jacobs has presented at numerous professional conferences on topics like modern shotcrete and waterproofing techniques and hard group rapid excavation and tunneling. He has also spoken publicly to Tappan Zee High School students about engineering career opportunities. Civically, Mr. Jacobs had a chance to serve as the vice president and board of education trustee at South Orangetown Central School District from 2005 to 2023 and as a member of the school district’s finance council between 2008 and 2022.
