Among a range of responsibilities, Mr. Gilbert organizes meetings, networks with industry professionals, and reviews potential contracts. He also trains artificial intelligence (AI) models on a freelance basis, reflecting his deep engagement with advanced technology and innovation.
Simultaneously, since 2025, Mr. Gilbert has served as a freelance generative AI trainer and software engineer for both Alignerr, owned by Labelbox, and Outlier AI, owned by Scale AI. In these roles, he contributes to the development and refinement of AI systems by providing expert training data and feedback. Mr. Gilbert’s work in this capacity underscores his proficiency in AI and machine learning technologies.
Since 2025, Mr. Gilbert has further developed his expertise as a data analytics technical specialist within Tesla’s energy division in Las Vegas, Nevada. His duties encompass handling customer tickets related to energy system issues, running data analytics on system faults, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems, and identifying areas for improvement in system processes. Mr. Gilbert also provides recommendations to leadership to enhance system performance and improve Tesla’s applications.
Before his current positions, Mr. Gilbert worked as a DevOps engineer at TELUS Digital from 2022 to 2025. He also held industry roles at companies such as Systemavo LLC as a client software support technician, beginning in 2019. Outside his work in this sector, Mr. Gilbert gained experience as a corrections officer at a medium-security prison, where he maintained safety protocols and contributed to inmate rehabilitation, after working as a 911 operator with the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Mr. Gilbert’s professional journey is deeply rooted in his military service. He served as a signal radio communications specialist in the U.S. Army at Fort Carson from 2014 to 2018 before joining the Colorado Army National Guard in Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 2018.
Highly educated, Mr. Gilbert received a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Biola University in 2014 and both a Master of Public Administration and a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Colorado Springs in 2021. Additionally, he earned a post-master’s certificate in business studies from National University, where his outstanding academic performance led to his induction into the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Beyond his formal education, Mr. Gilbert’s commitment to continuous learning is reflected in his numerous certifications from Amazon Web Services Inc., including certified AI practitioner, solutions architect associate, cloud practitioner, machine learning engineer associate and AI practitioner early adopter. He also received credentials from Google in areas such as Linux, SQL and cybersecurity.
Mr. Gilbert is an active member of the Association of the U.S. Army. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is dedicated to civic engagement as a volunteer and supporter of Worth Fighting For in Las Vegas, Nevada, since 2021. The nonprofit organization is dedicated to ending human trafficking and supporting survivors.
Mr. Gilbert’s exemplary military service was recognized with two U.S. Army Commendation Medals in 2016, including one awarded for saving the lives of two soldiers. He was also honored with the Iron Horse Soldier of the Week Award that same year.
Throughout his life, Mr. Gilbert has credited his faith and his family’s belief in him as foundational influences on his success. Coming from a large military family with service dating back to the Revolutionary War, he attributes much of his drive and discipline to this legacy.
