Title: Project Manager
Company: Gerber Construction
Location: Draper, Utah, United States
Joshua B. Lamb, Project Manager at Gerber Construction, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in Construction and Engineering.
With more than two decades of continuous experience in the construction industry, Mr. Lamb has established himself as a leading expert in structural concrete and project scheduling. His journey began in Orderville, Utah, where he was raised in a small town and introduced to road construction through his father’s business as a teenager. This early exposure inspired Mr. Lamb to pursue a career that combined his aptitude for engineering with hands-on fieldwork.
Since 2025, Mr. Lamb has served as a project manager at Gerber Construction. In this capacity, he supervises two project engineers on water and wastewater treatment facility projects as well as water tank and pump station developments, assisting them with submittals and requests for information related to structural components, such as concrete, architecture, steel and masonry. Mr. Lamb also collaborates closely with subcontractors and suppliers to coordinate project execution while ensuring safety plans are meticulously written and followed to maintain a zero-injury goal.
Mr. Lamb’s responsibilities further include executing new construction and retrofit projects across Utah and overseeing on-site operations nearly full-time. He also manages monthly pay applications and financial records, verifies and reconciles invoices against budgets to ensure correct cash flow, and develops baseline schedules and monthly updates using P6 software.
Before joining Gerber Construction, Mr. Lamb spent nearly a decade at Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction Company in Utah. From 2023 to 2025, he was an estimator, based in Draper, where he contributed to cost analysis and bid preparation for large-scale projects. Between 2021 and 2023, Mr. Lamb held the role of project manager in Salt Lake City, overseeing complex assignments from inception to completion while ensuring operational efficiency. Earlier roles included serving as a project engineer for the Logan Wastewater Treatment Facility in Logan, Utah, from 2019 to 2020 and as both a project engineer and quality control manager in the Salt Lake City metropolitan area between 2016 and 2018.
Mr. Lamb launched his professional career at Kiewit Corporation, one of America’s largest contractors, where he spent his formative years beginning in 2013. His positions included civil field engineer in Phoenix, Arizona, engineer estimator in Salt Lake City, civil engineer superintendent in Reno, Nevada, track engineer superintendent in Fremont, California, and engineer estimator for track projects in the Greater Phoenix area, until 2016. At Kiewit, Mr. Lamb absorbed a deeply rooted safety culture that would become central to his professional philosophy.
Aside from his work in this sector, Mr. Lamb launched a multimedia venture focused on real estate marketing media production for agents facing stagnant property listings. As a licensed commercial drone pilot, he captures aerial footage, then produces short-form promotional videos featuring custom musical scores tailored for each home’s unique character. His proprietary four-day launch program generated significant engagement metrics, including thousands of likes and bookmarks, while helping restore market traction for clients. Mr. Lamb continues operating this side business while distributing creative advertising assets across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X platforms.
Mr. Lamb’s academic foundation includes a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from Utah State University in Logan, earned in 2012. The rigorous curriculum provided him with essential technical knowledge while developing his problem-solving abilities, skills that have proven critical throughout his career managing complex construction projects. Mr. Lamb’s commitment to professional development is further demonstrated by several credentials, including professional engineer licensure in the state of Utah through the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying in 2019 and designation as an Envision Sustainability Professional from the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure in 2023. Additionally, he holds a remote pilot certificate under the Federal Aviation Administration Part 107 regulations for small unmanned aircraft systems operation.
A member of the American Society of Civil Engineers during his academic years and affiliated with Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity, Mr. Lamb values professional collaboration and lifelong learning within the engineering community. Beyond his primary profession, he has explored creative pursuits that complement his technical expertise. Over the past several years, he has composed, produced and released original music across major streaming platforms as a lifelong musician with three decades of piano experience along with proficiency on guitar. Mr. Lamb’s production process incorporates artificial intelligence tools alongside traditional instrumentation. Rather than seeking fame as an artist or band member, which proved exhausting due to promotional demands, he prioritizes creativity itself.
Throughout his career in construction and engineering, Mr. Lamb has contributed to numerous award-winning projects. He played key roles on teams recognized multiple times for excellence in concrete construction and received accolades from Engineering News-Record for project excellence. While Mr. Lamb does not seek individual recognition, these honors reflect the high standards of the teams with which he has worked.
Mr. Lamb attributes his success not only to luck and hard work but also to strong teams, effective managers and positive role models encountered throughout his career journey. He acknowledges that learning from mistakes is essential for growth in such a demanding industry where stress management is crucial. Now established as an expert in structural concrete and scheduling practices, Mr. Lamb finds fulfillment mentoring younger employees at Gerber Construction, teaching best practices so they, too, can excel.
In the years ahead, Mr. Lamb intends to deepen his expertise within Gerber Construction, where he sees substantial opportunity for growth amid recent milestones, such as the company’s transition to employee ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan structure after five decades of operation under family leadership, followed by strategic expansion under new management over the past decade. Mr. Lamb’s goal is to either advance into higher-level project management or transition into specialized scheduling roles within the company.
