With more than 20 years of experience in his field to his credit, Mr. Tanweer has excelled as a senior software engineer for Android at Penumbra Inc. since 2022. In this position, he contributes to daily scrum meetings, completes assignments associated to Android software within his deadlines, offers constructive feedback on his assignments and processes, and selects tasks from the scrum board. Notably, Mr. Tanweer is currently developing a roleplay video game inspired by historical East Asia, conducting thorough research in ancient Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Iraq, India, and other nations to ensure authenticity and accuracy to the period on display.
Born in Pakistan, Mr. Tanweer began his career as a lecturer at the University of Lahore between 2002 and 2003. He subsequently served as a graphics application developer for Wiz-LInks from 2004 to 2006 and Studio Fork from 2006 to 2007. Soon thereafter, he worked as a senior software engineer for Strategic Systems International between 2007 and 2009, during which time he was briefly assigned to Vedel IT for one year. Mr. Tanweer was later active as a principal software engineer with Strategic Systems International from 2009 to 2011 before accepting the same position with Arbisoft from 2011 to 2014.
Mr. Tanweer contributed his expertise as a software development consultant to Sunrise Labs Inc. in 2015 and the Insulet Corporation from 2016 to 2019, the latter role helped him gain practical knowledge on the intricacies of Android software. Between 2014 and 2020, he found success as a software engineer with Peak Point Technologies. In 2020, Toast Inc. recruited him as a senior software engineer. Prior to his current post, Mr. Tanweer exhibited his prowess within his field as a principal engineer with Afiniti from 2020 and 2022.
To support his professional ambitions, Mr. Tanweer pursued an education at the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science. Though he initially harbored a passion for mathematics and physics, he was drawn to computer science due to the influence of his father, who encountered computers during his work in the banking sector. Having been assigned a personal computer, a novelty in Pakistan at the time, Mr. Tanweer shifted his focus toward the burgeoning field and competed against more than 1,400 other applicants to secure admission to the aforementioned university.
Renowned among his peers as an expert in Android software, virtual reality, game development, unity system development, and back-end programming, Mr. Tanweer was presented with the Award for New Media and Entertainment from P@SHA-ICT in 2013 and a Silver Merit Award from the Asia Pacific ICT Alliance Awards (APICTA) in 2013. He has attributed his success to the unwavering support of his loving family. Among the most memorable moments of his career, he is incredibly proud to create a physically-based state-of-the-art “Scoop Excavator” simulation in Pakistan, which was nominated for a number of accolades.
Looking toward the future, Mr. Tanweer hopes to introduce his historical roleplay game to the market in the next several years. Also aiming to cement his legacy as an esteemed software engineer, he also plans to establish a travel company catering to the needs of American Muslims which would provide affordable Hajj and Umrah packages that emphasize the importance of these pilgrimages and their associated costs.
