James M. Rosen, director of global training delivery at GE Vernova, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Engineers for dedication, achievements, and leadership in power generation and management.

Mr. Rosen, an expert in adult learning and technical training, has excelled as the global training delivery leader at General Electric (GE) since 2015. Managing the Houston training center, he trains all of GE’s field engineers, craft laborers and repair service technicians. Mr. Rosen also oversees six direct reports and over 55 instructors located worldwide, as well as the budget for capital projects. Based in Boston, GE Vernova is recognized as a planned, purpose-built company aiming to electrify the planet while concurrently working to decarbonize it. 

Previously employed by GE, Mr. Rosen was an autonomous manufacturing group leader in Schenectady, New York, from 2012 to 2013. He then served as an electrical and excitation product line leader in Niskayuna, New York, between 2013 and 2015. Mr. Rosen’s tenure with GE included successfully transforming a global team of approximately 100 employees into a high-performing team via various strategic initiatives and enhancing resources that resulted in excellence in training delivery and performance targets.

Mr. Rosen also served 20 years in the United States Navy between 1992 and 2012. His military career was the start of a 30-year tenure in power generation services, initially working as a junior staff instructor for nuclear power plant operations, maintenance, and electrical theory and performing nuclear plant and electrical system maintenance. Continually progressing in various roles throughout his service, he also honorably served several deployments aboard aircraft carriers. Mr. Rosen’s progression and advancement in power plant operations and maintenance within the Naval Nuclear Training Program were instrumental in his success. He retired as a master chief petty officer, E-9, the highest rank achievable, comprised by only 2% of the total population of the entire U.S. Navy.

A graduate of New School University in New York City, Mr. Rosen received a Bachelor of Science in human resources management in 2002. He also holds several certifications, including as a master training specialist and nuclear propulsion plant operator.

Mr. Rosen is a professional member of the Energy Users Group, where he has the opportunity to exchange his ideas and expertise with other like-minded individuals from within his field. Civically, he is active by volunteering with the Society of Women Engineers and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He also volunteers with the Houston School District.

A highly decorated veteran, Mr. Rosen received several Sea Service and National Defense Ribbons, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, a U.S. Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal, and, among others, three U.S. Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medals, all from the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Rosen attributes much of his accomplishments to his grandfather, who was a WWII fighter pilot and was his motivation to enlist in the U.S. Navy. He also notes the incredible experience during his tenure in the service and the discipline, attention to detail and team collaboration that was vital to his success.

Eager to continue advancing in his industry, Mr. Rosen has his sights set on an executive-level position where he can continue making an impact.
