Mr. Diop is recognized for his contributions to automotive systems engineering, marked by a series of progressive roles and significant achievements. Since 2024, he has served as a system engineer with Field Nation LLC, where he continues to apply his expertise in information technology and electronics to complex engineering challenges.

Leveraging his former success at Ford Motor Company, Mr. Diop was a connectivity system engineer in Dearborn, Michigan, from 2016 to 2024. In this capacity, he led a team that combined ITIL certification with advanced knowledge of hardware, software and cloud infrastructure to deliver innovative infotainment and connectivity solutions. His work focused on manufacturing, product development, telematics and human-machine interfaces, ensuring that Ford’s products met the brand’s high standards for quality and user experience.

During his tenure at Ford Motor Company, Mr. Diop also held the role of netcom system engineer between 2022 and 2023 after initially being hired as a system engineer in 2016. Throughout his career with Ford, he developed deep expertise in end-of-line build processes, hardware and software vehicle validation, sign-off vehicle readiness, and manufacturing vehicles at various launch phases such as EPT, TT, job one and MP. Mr. Diop also demonstrated proficiency in visual analytics across more than 30 modules within the vehicle, an achievement that underscores his comprehensive understanding of automotive systems engineering.

Before joining Ford Motor Company, Mr. Diop contributed to FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles as a resident engineer from 2015 to 2016 and as a software tester during the same period. He also excelled as a software tester for General Motors starting in 2014, where he honed his skills in quality assurance and technical troubleshooting. In 2013, Mr. Diop was a technician specializing in voice recognition and human-machine interface systems at Hyundai & Mobis North America. This role allowed him to deepen his knowledge of emerging technologies that enhance driver interaction with vehicle systems.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Diop was a bilingual customer support correspondent for Ford Motor Company and Ford of Canada in Dearborn from 2012 to 2013. His professional journey began as a technical support representative with Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services in 2010, where he gained foundational experience in information technology support.

Mr. Diop’s academic background included earning a Bachelor of Science in electronics from Centre de Formation Professionel et Technique, awarded in 2003, followed by a Bachelor of Science in information technology from Lawrence Technological University in 2009. These degrees provided him with robust theoretical knowledge and practical skills that have underpinned his success across multiple roles in the automotive industry.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Mr. Diop is deeply committed to civic engagement and humanitarian causes. Since 2007, he has served as a committee member at Foundation Khadimu Rassul of Michigan. He also became influential as a lead for information technology in 2013. Mr. Diop’s volunteer work reflects a dedication to community service and social responsibility.

Among Mr. Diop’s most notable career accomplishments, he spearheaded the design and implementation of Provisioning in Transport Mode. This system allows vehicles to leave the plant even if the telematic control unit has not completed its configuration at the end of the line. The initiative addressed critical bottlenecks in the provisioning process, enabling network-related issues to be resolved at dealerships rather than causing costly delays at the plant. The result was a substantial reduction in parking and storage expenses, saving Mr. Diop’s company approximately $5 million per day and earning strong support from management.

Mr. Diop attributes much of his professional growth and resilience to his faith. His journey exemplifies expertise in automotive systems engineering coupled with unwavering commitment to innovation, family values and civic responsibility.
